shocked to read about Joe Meegan's passing. Much to young and to soon. Joe was a great guy to work with, Always willing to help out. A quiet and unsung hero of Eng. 17

So sad. We fought a lot of fires together in the 70's. He was one of the good guys. Does anyone know the cause of death?

Hi Carl Artie Sampson told me he had a heart attack while at the gym-taken to hospital and remained in a coma for about a week. He didn't appear to have had a history of heart problems. I did call him about 2 weeks before his death regarding the Dinner/Dance; he seemed fine and we reminisced about the old days. I walked into Broome St with him in late '69 with Artie, Rosie, Watson, Planeta, and Burns. I did get to the Funeral Mass and had a short chat with his wife and son. He was respected by all for his Fire Fighting and outstanding moral character. He will be sorely missed. Tom 'philthy' Fiskaa
