Hey all, Just want to introduce myself as Dave Sparnroft, FF Ron Sparnroft is my dad and LT George Sparnroft is my grandpa and they both served at Fort Pitt. I believe my grandpa is a member on this forum as well. Last week I convinced my dad to ring the door bell at the house and try to get a tshirt for my wife and I because he talks about serving on E-17 so much it'd be nice to have a memento for us. Although we weren't able to get a tshirt because supplies were low, my dad reunited with Ron Latarri and he was able to show my wife and I around the fire house. It was truly an honor and it was one of the greatest experiences ever...getting to see old pictures of my dad from the 80s still on the walls, meeting one of his old buddies, and being able to see my dad walk around like he never left and having him document our visit in the journal. It was awesome to feel, see, and smell the origin of so many stories I've heard in my lifetime and once again experience the fraternity of New York's bravest since my dad's retirement in '02. I would still love to be able to get a couple of tshirts for my wife and I so we can represent down here in the south so if anyone could hook me up I would greatly appreciate it. Also, I'm a police officer in VA where my wife is from and if anyone is interested in getting a patch from my department I'd be more than happy to send a bunch up. Thanks once again for really showing the meaning of brotherhood and keeping traditions alive. Stay safe and God bless!
